A Music Lover From the Beginning

From an early age, music surrounded Alimorad. Raised in Harrison, New York, he was influenced by his father’s legacy as a renowned pop and rock singer in Iran during the 1960s. In second grade, Alimorad sang in his church choir and developed a fondness for playing the piano. By seventh grade, he formed his first garage band.

As he explained to Authority Magazine, Alimorad ignored what his peers were listening to at the time and became obsessed with—and inspired by—the music of yesteryear: “I was into older music when I was a kid. None of my friends had heard of any of the bands I was listening to, and in middle school especially there were people always asking me why I like this ‘old’ music.”

Alimorad’s time as a drum major in his high school marching band cemented his dedication to music. He soon pursued a Bachelor of Science in music technology at Northeastern University. During this time, he gained recognition for his high-energy live performances at Boston’s bars, clubs, and festivals. This phase of his career marked the beginning of Alimorad’s journey into recording.

Crafting a Unique Sound

Alimorad’s music blends timeless pop and rock influences. The result is a sound that evokes nostalgia while remaining fresh and relevant. Embracing Purpose, Pursuing Authenticity

The singer-songwriter practices what he preaches. Alimorad’s approach to music is driven by an unwavering dedication to authenticity. This makes him a role model for aspiring musicians who wish to stay true to their vision while embracing artistic growth.

Milestones and Accolades 

Alimorad’s music video for his song “Beautiful” went viral, accumulating more than two million views on YouTube. In 2019, he earned first place in the USA Songwriting Competition for his song “Brighter Days.” 

This accolade was a significant recognition of his songwriting skills and gave Alimorad a chance to spread his positivity. “To anyone going through a dark time, know there are brighter days ahead,” he insisted in an interview with Recording Magazine. 

In 2024, Alimorad was named Best New Artist at the World Entertainment Awards. His music has since been featured on MTV and PBS. These accomplishments reflect the growing impact he is having on the music industry.

Overcoming Life’s Hurdles

Alimorad’s journey has not been without its challenges. The COVID-19 pandemic brought both personal and professional setbacks. He lost his father, a musical confidant and mentor, leaving Him with an emotional void just as he was launching his career.

Professionally, the pandemic interrupted his plans, including a much-anticipated headlining showcase at SXSW. Despite the setbacks, Alimorad took time to reflect. He found new ways to move forward and eventually used his grief as fuel for his music.

Looking to the Stars

Looking to the future, Alimorad dreams of performing in iconic venues worldwide. His debut performance at Carnegie Hall on February 20, 2025 was a milestone in his career that represents the realization of a dream. However, his aspirations don’t end there: Alimorad aims to perform at legendary venues Madison Square Garden, Fenway Park, and the Royal Albert Hall.

Regardless of the size of his stage, Jamie Alimorad strives to inspire hope, joy, and connection in a world that often feels hopelessly divided.
